Corn rows with S Mendes
It's summer!!! wahoo!! Well kind of wahoo! It is just like really, really, really hot now. Like I think I am going to die! But I am loving it! my sandal tan lines are coming in quit nicely if you ask me!

This week was great! I did my first division with the sisters in Vila Franca de Xira. It was such a blast! I got to stay there for a day with Sister Harper. She is such a hoot. We had so much fun! Also this week we had our last zone conference with President Fluckiger. It was really, really sad. I am really grateful for him and Sister Fluckiger. They really did help me so much and really did change my life for the better. I will miss them so much! That was one of the best days of my mission so far.

So Sister Medes and I pretty much have a festa every single night now a days.  She did corn rows in my hair this morning and she is telling her sister to send me african clothes. YES!!!! THE GOOD LIFE!!! Haha I really really love her a lot! I am so excited to be with her!

I love serving so much! I am just so happy to be here as a missionary seeing so many miracles every day. I have said it before and I will probs say it again, but I LOVE MIRACLES!! God really does make a way for all of his children to make it back and I am so happy to be part of this work right now!

Remember folks, VIDA BOA!!! AMO-VOCÊS!!!!!

hey yall!
Another week has come and gone! Crazy! time is flying by. I don't want to blink in fear that if I do I will be at my 9 months mark. man life.

This week was fun. We are like never in our area. So it should be interesting to see how things work out. We had to go to mission council on Tuesday and then we had zone meeting on Thursday. It was cool. I feel like I know all the secrets of the mission now. Ya thats right, I know stuff about stuff now.

I totally got to see Sandra this week! It was so great to see her. She has a calling in the primary now and it was like old times when I went to her house again! ahh it was like christmas mixed with the 4th of July in a bowl of ice cream! I love her so much!! It was really so good to see that she is still active and doing great things!

So I am only mostly sure that fathers day is next Sunday so if it is I would like to take this second to thank my dad! He is probably the best dad in the whole world. So all you others out there that think that your dad is the best, it is just because you don't know mine. Thanks for always being there for me dad. Love you! Thanks for always making me laugh and for all the funny random pics that words cannot describe. you rock a pocket of puke like non other.

This week I a learned a very important lesson...I would like to share my experience with you all so that you don't make the same mistake. While walking along a lovely road in the rain I decided that I wanted to know what rain looked like as it fell from the sky. So I looked straight up. Well as soon as I did a big huge Portuguese rain drop fell right into my open eye ball. It hurt. So what is the moral of this story? Dont be like sister Bakker and look straight up to the sky in the middle of a rain storm. You will regret it.

Love you all! Boa Semana!

That's it, I'm not going....Alright, I'll go....

I think that the Grinch really said it best when it comes to this transfer... "That's it, I'm not going... Alright I'll go, but I will be fashionably late." Sadly I had to say good bye to Portimao yesterday and hello to my new/old area! POVOA!

This week is a week of changes. Sister Steagall finished her training! yay! It was so great to train her! I love her so much! She is no joke so incredible! So last night we got transfer calls. Yup I left my beloved home in Portimão and I am back in Povoa! wahoo round 2!! I am so excited to be here! I am serving as a sister training leader here with Sister Mendes! She is 22 from Capo Verde! I can already tell that we are going to have way too much fun! I am so excited! This is going to be a transfer of miracles for sure!!! I cannot wait to get to work here!

Sadly Ana and Antonio ended up not getting baptized. They really struggled after their wedding with some little things that were scaring them about the church. It was really really sad to say good bye to them. But I know that they will get baptized soon! I love them so much and I am forever grateful for all that they taught me and the change I got to see in them!

I am so excited to be here! I love the mission so much! I love life so much on the mission and in general! life is just so good! ahhh I am loving it!

Sending you all my love from here in good old Povoa!

Love always
Sister Bakker!

8 Months as a Sister Missionary

Hello there folks! so ya, I have been gone for 8 months as of today. That is weird! The time really does go so fast! It is crazy!

Life here is great! Things are moving along just great! Ana and Antonio are doing great still! My love for them grows everyday! They got married on Friday! Sadly we did not get to go to the wedding but that is ok! We are going to see them tonight! This week was great! We have really seen some great miracles here in Portimão! I dont want to leave. Hopefully next week at transfers I will get the news that I am staying one more.

I really want to take a second and share with you all my love for the Savior. As a mission we study the atonement for 15 mins everyday. I never thought that I would come to know my savior the way that I have in the last 8 months. I know that he loves each of us. He knows our trials and what we need and when we need it. I know that the atonement is infinite and that becuase of what Christ did for all of us we can live with our loving Father in Heaven again. I am so grateful for this gospel! I love this church so much and I love seeing the way that it changes lives!

Thank you so much for all you do for me! Love you all!
